December Already

Holidays’ Around the World
This month we are studying holiday traditions around the world and sharing. Students have learned about many different traditions celebrated around the globe. They’ve also learned the importance of giving and receiving.
We would like our classrooms to participate in the gift of giving to our friends through gift exchange. On Wednesday, 12/13, we will walk to the Dollar Store and each student will pick out one gift for a friend. In class, we will wrap the gift and give it to our friend during our winter celebration the following week.
Please sign the permission slip and send $1 to purchase a gift. Return the form before Friday, December 8, 2017. If you would like to attend the walking field trip please let us know as soon as possible. Just jot a little note below J
Best,
The SRC Team
Permission slips will be coming home Dec. 1st. If you do not want your child to participate in this activity, please write a note on the permission slip and return. Thank you.

Cold and Flu season are here. Here’s just the reminders of what the district policies are. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office at 503-356-2180.

With winter weather on its way, hopefully not as many days as last year, please remember to check the Beaverton School District website for school closure updates.

Our last day of school for December is the 20th. We will be having a short celebration at school at 1:00pm. All are welcome to join. We will be decorating cookies and sipping hot chocolate with either whipped cream or marshmallows. Oh what fun it will be!

We will also being saying good-bye to a wonderful substitute teacher we have had in the classroom since October. Ms. Nicole Takelo. Nicole has been a wonderful asset to our family here and has made amazing connections with your children. She will be leaving us to finish her degree in - yup you guessed it - special education. We wish her well and hope to see her again.
