Last Week

Well my friends, the last week of school is upon us. The kids are ready and I'm fairly certain that all of their teachers are ready as well.

A couple of last week notes:

Very little curriculum will occur this last week. We will focus our goals on being good friends, sharing, and continuing to use our words. Skills that never go out of style.

For my 5th grade families: The last day of school will be an award ceremony for the 5th grade students. This will begin at 9:00 am.  It will end around 10:15 ish.

We will return to the classroom to have a day of packing up and celebrating the time we have had together. At 2:45 the 5th graders will complete the "walk of fame" (walk around the hallway of the school and then ring the bell to signify the end of their time here at McKinley. Bring your camera's and kleenex.

I will send out one final blog posting but let me just say this:

When I started back to school I had 3 children still in elementary school. I worked several odd jobs and raised my family while obtaining my bachelor's degree. After burying my biggest fan, my dad, I went back to school to obtain my master's degree in special education. Again working several jobs and raising my family but with a new guardian angel on my side.  As I worked, I dreamt of being in a classroom just like the one you see today. However, I did not dream that it would be filled with such amazing students and their families. You are all more than I could ever dream up - in the best way possible!

I am honored to be able to spend time with your children. I am thankful for all the support that you give your children and their teachers. I am sad to be losing such awesome 5th graders and excited to watch the growth of these fine young 3rd graders.

As always, message me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
